What is Wholly Holy Ministries?

Updated: May 14

Wholly Holy Ministries is a discipleship ministry centered on helping people live holy, Christlike, righteous, and mature lives. It aims at interpreting and applying biblical holiness rightly so that we can live a completely holy life as Christians. Holiness has so often been misunderstood, misinterpreted, misapplied, and misrepresented. So often, “holiness” is seen as a negative term that people want to avoid, like the plague, and run from at all costs. So many have grown up in “holiness” churches and denominations and have seen gross excesses, errors, and extremes. Holiness has been filled with legalism and man's personal convictions and traditions not found in the Scriptures. So many see holiness as a negative word instead of a positive one. Holiness has left a “bitter taste in their mouths.” But it does not have to be this way! This ministry seeks to correct these abuses and aims to define the word “holiness” biblically and see it for what it truly is - a beautiful and life-transforming word! Holiness, when interpreted, understood, and applied rightly, brings freedom, joy, wholeness, peace, love, life, and abundance to our lives!

Wholly Holy Ministries seeks not only to interpret holiness rightly so that people see and understand it as a beautiful word again, but it also strives to help people apply it rightly in their lives so that they can live completely holy lives. 2 Corinthians 7:1 states, “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” We need to “perfect” or complete this holiness in our lives on earth now, even before we get to heaven. But how do we do this? Is it even possible to achieve this on Earth? How do we get real and lasting freedom and victory over sin? How do we shake off those old habits that get us stuck repeatedly? How can we get freedom over strongholds, bondages, addictions, insecurities, fears, secret sins, heart and behavioral sins, and many distractions that keep us from living a holy and righteous life? Well, you have come to the right place! This ministry is designed to help people answer these questions and to find lasting solutions that bring true freedom and victory in life! We must first believe and accept this, and second, cooperate with God in living out the truth of God's Scriptures by trusting and obeying Him.

So many Christians are not able to live up to their full potential that Jesus died and purchased for them to live in due to the sin in their lives. They want to live for God, not sin, but repeatedly fall into the same old sins and bad habits. Sin is simply the root enemy and problem in our lives. Sin is at the center of all of our problems and issues and is the root of all our pain. And self-centeredness is the root of all of our sins. The quicker we realize and accept this, the faster our freedom will come. We need to both hate sin and, by God’s grace, kill it. The answer to all that is good, pure, and wholesome in life is Jesus. Jesus is, and always has been, the answer! Only Jesus can truly transform our hearts and fill us with a divine love that will get us to forget ourselves and live a life of love for God and others. But we can’t find this love and freedom when all these sins are dragging us down keeping us from getting close to Jesus. Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). Therefore, we need to not only discover our sins and repent of them and renounce them, but we also need true freedom and victory over them.

But so many argue that true freedom and victory over sin is not possible on this Earth. They are cynical and hardened against this idea because they have tried almost everything to find lasting victory over sin but have only found defeat repeatedly. They leave feeling disappointed and discouraged, wondering if they should even try anymore or throw in the towel. As a result, they eventually lose hope and give up altogether in defeat or, at the least, live a life of constant struggle and failure. Is this God’s will or desire for us? Of course not! We have so much greater potential in Christ! Jesus died upon the cross to forgive us of our sins and set us free from our sins! The good news is that, as Christians, we don't have to sin anymore. It's entirely possible not to sin! If we sin, it is because we choose to sin and not because we have to sin. Our new identity and nature as believers are saints in Christ, and God's grace allows us to walk in freedom over sin's rule, reign, and power over our lives.

When we live a life of defeat and bondage to sin, we are tempted to base our theology on holiness upon our own experience or others’ experiences instead of the Word of God. But what if the issue was simply that we were not following the manual or instructions of the Book, the Holy Scriptures, correctly, and instead of us basing our theology upon experience, we based it instead upon the proper interpretation and application of holiness according to the Scriptures? What if the issue had to do with our minds needing to be renewed according to the Scriptures so that we genuinely understood biblical holiness and our potential in Christ?

The good news of the glorious Gospel of Jesus and the Kingdom is that it is entirely possible to not sin as Christians. It is possible to have lasting victory and freedom over sin on this earth now, and we don’t have to wait until heaven. Hallelujah! We must believe this first before seeing lasting fruit and positive change in our lives toward holy living. But in order to honestly believe this, we must have a proper understanding of the Scriptures when it comes to its interpretation and application. This ministry seeks to help us achieve this goal.

Now understand me. Indeed, we will not be sinlessly perfect until we get to heaven because only then will we receive our resurrected bodies and be fully or perfectly like Jesus (1 John 3:2). However, while we will never be sinlessly perfect on this earth now before receiving our resurrected bodies, we can find lasting and true freedom and victory over sin by God’s grace and through faith. There is hope for our struggles with sin now, and we do not have to wait until heaven to find lasting freedom and victory! The power of the Holy Spirit is within us as Christians to tap into for empowerment over sin (Romans 8:9).

The truth is, however, that in order to walk in this freedom and victory, it will require us to cooperate with God in making the right and wise choices. We will need to do our part and trust and obey God. Father will not trust and obey for us, but He will certainly help us to trust and obey Him. But our part is faith, and God will then do His part and give us His grace or empowerment so that we can live this holy life successfully. Not only is our conversion or justification “by grace through faith” (see Ephesians 2:8) but so is our sanctification or living out a holy life. God’s part is grace, and our part is faith. As we do our part, God will always do His part! God is the change agent, and He does all the “heavy lifting.” Hallelujah! Ultimately, it doesn’t fall upon us to live out this holy life but upon God to empower us. However, we do have a part to play, and that is namely to trust God in this process and allow Him to do in and through us what we can’t do in our own intellect, ability, and strength!

Living a completely holy life will be automatic in the new heavens and earth. Why? Simply because we will have our sinlessly perfect resurrected and renewed bodies. But on this earth now, as we live in the transitional age of the Kingdom of God being here but yet not fully here, we still live in a sin-cursed world with sin-cursed bodies. We will struggle against the flesh, the world, and the devil to be completely holy. Sin will affect our bodies, souls, and spirits. We will also struggle with ourselves and the need to daily deny ourselves and live the crucified life for Jesus. The struggle is real! But that does not mean we have to live a life of defeat. Real freedom and victory over sin is not only a theoretical possibility on this earth but a reality if we cooperate with God and fulfill the conditions of His instruction manual – the Holy Scriptures.

This ministry is designed to help you in this process of finding true and lasting freedom and victory over sin in your life so that you can find wholeness and peace in your life. This ministry seeks to help you become complete and whole in Christ (see Colossians 1:28). Holiness is a beautiful word because it brings wholeness to our lives! This ministry seeks to bring holiness back again to the body of Christ! People often ask me, “What does holiness look like?” The answer is simple, “Jesus!” There was never anyone that was more holy than Jesus because He was absolute holiness perfected. Holiness is Christlikeness, period. To be holy means to have the motives, thoughts, attitudes, speech, and behavior of Jesus. Holiness is not primarily behavioral but centered on a person – Jesus. And when it is centered upon Jesus, holy behavior will be the byproduct or result.

We are called to become “partakers of the divine nature” according to 2 Peter 1:4. Whose “divine nature?” Jesus’s divine nature, of course! We are called to live like Jesus and follow His steps (1 John 2:6; 1 Peter 2:21-24). And it is possible by God’s grace to be like Jesus in this world (1 John 4:17). So, what are we waiting for? Let’s seek to be completely holy in this world, fulfilling 2 Corinthians 7:1 as we reflect the image of Jesus to a lost and dying world. I hope this ministry helps you achieve this lasting freedom and victory over sin to the glory of God!
